At the heart of GenieDB is the desire to combine our unique technology with prominent, powerful platforms and frameworks to give application developers the most ideal enviornment in which to work. By doing this, businesses are able to create new and more powerful applications based on the strengths these unified technologies rather than sacrificing the functionality of one over the other.

Rails is an open-source web framework that includes everything needed to create database-backed web applications according to the Model-View-Control pattern. The framework includes a rich ecosystem of editors, performance monitors and such, so we felt the only thing missing was our fully replicated, NoSQL database with immediate consistency.
